Career Opportunity: Senior Manager, Building Operations

Responsibilities
We are currently seeking a Senior Manager, Building Operations to join our Technical Operations department. Reporting to the Executive Director, Technical Operations, this position will be responsible for the following:
- Leading a highly skilled team responsible for the safe and effective operation, maintenance and sustainability of the built environment in the Saskatoon portfolio; much of your work will be accomplished through the actions of your direct reports who you will lead, coach and support in their day-to-day activities
- Driving operational efficiencies by developing best practices, identifying and implementing positive change to processes and encouraging and supporting team member skill development and training
- Developing, administering and monitoring department-specific budgets as well as monitoring monthly financial statements
What We Want from You
- Ability to provide leadership that empowers employees
- Comprehensive understanding of commercial buildings and systems gained from experience in operations including understanding complex HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems and a broad knowledge of construction methodologies
- Solid understanding of budgets, forecasting and financial reporting as well as an understanding of legal and contractual issues
- Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills
- Eight years of experience in the operation of commercial buildings and the management and supervision of employees
- On a technical level:
- Professional Applied Science Technologist and/or Inter-Provincial Journeyperson in a Construction Trade and/or Fourth Class Power Engineer License would all be considered assets
- Professional designations in Facilities or Maintenance Management would be considered assets
