Innovation Saskatchewan is responsible for implementing the province’s innovation priorities and helping grow Saskatchewan’s tech sector. Effective April 2022, this includes operation of the Innovation Place technology parks in Saskatoon and Regina.

Nominations now open for the 2021 CANIE Awards

The nominations for the 2021 Canada Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CANIE) Awards are now open!

The CANIE Awards aim to recognize and celebrate the excellence and outstanding impact of innovators, entrepreneurs and enterprise support organizations across Canada. In 2020, Co.Labs, a tenant at Innovation Place in Saskatoon, won the CANIE Enterprise Support Award for the Prairies Region Awards.

The 2021 CANIE Awards have announced the following awards categories:

  • Woman Entrepreneur Award
  • Global Impact Award – For enterprises only
  • Indigenous Innovation Award
  • Youth Impact Icon Award – under 30 years old
  • Black Entrepreneur Award
  • Product Innovation Award – For enterprises only
  • Entrepreneur of the Year Award

Individuals and businesses are encouraged to apply and submit nominations until March 15, 2021. To submit an application or nomination, visit canies.ca.

Nominees and applicants must be living Canadian citizens or permanent residents; demonstrate they are active innovators or entrepreneurs; and comply with the selected award criteria.
